50th Anniversary of Dr. Who (I'm so excited!)

I have discovered that it was pirated and is still being sold on certain websites, in spite of my multiple attempts to have it removed. Please DO NOT PAY for this mini kit or any of the others that were a part of this fan art blog train. Contact any of the artist designers involved and I am sure that we will be happy to work with a fellow Whovians to get you a FREE mini kit. It's art, and it's a celebration. It was meant to be shared, and to keep in accordance with what the BBC allows so that no copyright infringement would occur AND in the sense of community, unselfishness and wonder that Dr. Who has always fostered and inspired.

Dr. Who is a phenomenon. Everyone who has ever enjoyed the show seems to have their favorite incarnation, or version, of The Doctor. I remember staying up past my bedtime as a child to watch the show with my mother when Tom Baker was sporting the famous long scarf!

The Doctor shows us that we should never be alone. It isn't healthy to dwell too much on things that happened in our past. He teaches us to explore, to learn, to jump in and swim and that it's okay to be afraid. One simply puts on a brave face and opens the next door just the same. He has proven that you don't have to have muscles, or be pretty to save the world, nor do you have to be ugly or scary to be a villain. He taught me to be observant, to be kinder to machines, to accept that the unknown might really be known just not yet understood, that trust has to be unconditional and that people tend to see only what they want to see in other people. So look deeper.

Obviously I have had a love of Dr. Who that has lasted for many years, and the things that I have enjoyed in the program have evolved as I have matured. Clearly my fangirl squeals are contagious, because my husband and children are now Dr. Who fans as well. My two older sons watch it with their wives, and our teenagers join my husband and I for every episode.

I was thrilled to be invited to join and contribute my FAN ART in the form of a digital scrapbooking mini-kit for personal use only. You can scrap those pictures of everyone gathered at your house to watch the 50th Anniversary Episode: Day of the Doctor! :)

Come Celebrate DSD Weekend and SNP's 2nd Anniversary!

It's the second anniversary at SNP and it's DSD weekend! Can I get a WHOOT?!! They have planned a super fun weekend for you! The customers and designers are some of the best people in digi and we are so very excited to have each of you actively involved in our community! You have no idea how you've touched our lives and how much we enjoy chatting with you and looking at your layouts. There is something wonderful about SNP. It's the friendships we create. It's the way our stories intertwine with those of the people we've never met in real life. It's people from all over the world uniting in this wonderful way that helps us to capture those small moments in time that make up the stories of our lives. Nowhere else can you find such an awesome group of people who work and create so closely to build such an amazing community for all of us to feel at home in. This weekend we are celebrating each and every one of you be{You}tiful people. The challenges and chats are centered around getting to know you better. We hope you'll join us this weekend as we strengthen our friendships and our community. I'm sure there will be a lot of laughter and of course they've created a Be{You}tiful collection of goodies for you that you won't want to miss. There is a fabulous facebook hop where you can collect 25 be{You}tiful templates and they wouldn't dare celebrate their anniversary or DSD without an awesome store wide sale! There will be 3 live events each day (with the exception of Thursday when there will be only 1) where we can meet in the chat room and get a little crazy (or a lot crazy for some of us...but I'm not naming any names!). There will be prizes awarded at each live event so be sure to be there on time! We'll also have 2 challenges for you each day where you can earn the pieces to a HUGE collab (We're talking 96 Papers, 82 Journal Cards, 190 Ellies and a full alpha!!)! You'll have all weekend to complete the challenges so don't stress about getting them done quickly. Kick back with us and enjoy your weekend! Fortunately, we did our kit choosing and our freebie making a few months ago since my shoulder is injured and I am still waiting to see if I need surgery or not. I adore Halloween (it's my favorite holiday!), so I chose Amy's Plethora of Pumpkins kit! It's adorable, and easily adapted to any fall activities! 

Truly a plethora of pumpkins and the cutest scarecrow ever, right? :)
