New SNP Blog Train Giveaway "Christmas Time"

When Hilary Duff sang,
"We're all here... and that's enough
Christmas, Christmas, that wonderful Christmas time!"
I had to agree! For me, the holidays are about family, and giving and making others happy.

I hope that you all enjoy this month's Scraps-N-Pieces blog train "Christmas Time".
Isn't it lovely?

Here is my contribution this month.

Click the preview above to download!

As usual I put a coordinating freebie up on my Facebook page. Here is a sneak peek of that.
You need to go and like my page to download the second part. Yes, you ARE seeing extractions again! I extracted the holly in both parts, the string in the second part, the knots in both parts and I sewed the felt bird ornament and then extracted it in the second part and that's the same bird I used for the bird papers.
If you already follow me on Facebook, that is the banner that I sneak peeked for you guys a month ago, as well.

Okay, on with our "Christmas Time" train. Here is the list of the rest of your stops.
Enjoy your holidays!

(Oh! If you are looking for the Holiday Whimsey downloads, they are still good until December 31st. Check the links to the right -> and up ^)

This was truly a labor of love.

Day 9 of Holiday Whimsey Giveaway 12 Days of Christmas

By now you all may be wondering....why on earth would these two small time designers choose to collaborate on a freebie Christmas scrapbooking kit. On Day 7, I shared that my teenage daughter, Caitlin chose to get involved with this kit.
The connection is that April of LyllahRaven Designs is my daughter in law! She loved what she saw after I began scrapbooking and designing and decided that she couldn't be left out of the fun! She's married to my oldest son, and mother to five (yes, FIVE) of my grand children.
April has been like one of my own children for about 10 years now. She and my son lived with us in the beginning while he finished his phlebotomy training. I was her doula when she gave birth the first few times.
So as you can now see, the Holiday Whimsey collaboration has literally been a family collaboration!
So from my family to yours...

Day 9!

LINK EXPIREDOh, don't forget to jump over to Mrs. Claus and get her for your kit!. She's an add on for Holiday Whimsey, but I also made her using a doll creation kit that a friend of mine sells. Help a friend AND end up with an adorable Mrs. Claus for you guys? Total win-win!

Tomorrow you visit April again at LyllahRaven Designs and I will see you here on Dec. 11th for the last of my pieces to this kit. Time flies!

Mrs. Claus Giveaway CT Freebie Holiday Whimsey Add On

I thought I'd see if I could made Mrs. Claus from the "Stan and Stella" kit that my friend, LilyAnn
with A Fish Design made. I was SO EXCITED at how she turned out that I asked my fans if
she needed to be a part of the Holiday Whimsey giveaway.
The answer, of course was a resounding "YES!".  Luckily LilyAnn was happy to have a freebie from a member of her Creative Team. So here we are with a Mrs. Claus for all of you!

Day 7 of Holiday Whimsey 12 Days of Christmas

Oh my gosh, Day 7!! Day 7 is ESPECIALLY fun!

So there I was working on this kit, and my daughter, Caitlin, (who is a super talented artist) came and sat next to me and she said, "Mom, I want to work on this kit with you." It brought tears to my eyes. What was it they said in the old Christmas cartoon, "And his heart grew ten sizes that day?" She has never shown any interest in my scrapbooking or style of digital art. At 17, she's her own person and I am so proud of who she has become. This meant a lot to me though.

So Caitlin designed this piece. She drew it. She chose what should be which color and texture. All I did was make it work. Today's part of Holiday Whimsey is subtitled:
Caitlin Makes Christmas

Don't forget to visit April at Lyllahraven Designs for Day 8, meet me back here for Day 9. To check out Caitlin's regular art, she has a fan page on Facebook HERE

Holiday Whimsey Day 5 of 12 Days of Christmas

On the fifth day of Christmas, Janece gave to me....

This is the smallest piece of Holiday Whimsey. I almost didn't include some of these bits at all. Then at the last minute I said, "Nope. I made them. I'm sharing them anyhow." It's not that I don't like them. I really do. I just wasn't sure they fit with this kit. So, do I share them now or....

Or leave them on my computer to forget why I saved them. lol

Except for one. Can you guess which it is? It's a preview of one of the days to come.

One the first day of Christmas, Janece gave to me...
(If you stretch the word "goodies" out, that works. I promise.)

Okay, so the 12 Days of Christmas collaboration kit giveaway. Here is how it will work.
Sort of like an advent calendar, but just for 12 days. You can't SEE the piece.

December 12th, you will visit either my blog or April's at LyllahRaven Designs
Every day one of us will post a new piece of the kit. 12 pieces total.
This is a HUGE KIT. We each worked on our parts separately, but we also worked on the kit
together as a team so hopefully you have plenty of everything. I know that my part has approximately
50 elements and 30 papers. I just kept adding so the numbers kept changing!

This kit was so much fun and I cannot wait to see you guy enjoy it!

50th Anniversary of Dr. Who (I'm so excited!)

This was available here FREE until December 31st 2013. It was FAN ART ONLY and freely shared as such. I have discovered that it was pirated and is still being sold on certain websites, in spite of my multiple attempts to have it removed. Please DO NOT PAY for this mini kit or any of the others that were a part of this fan art blog train. Contact any of the artist designers involved and I am sure that we will be happy to work with a fellow Whovians to get you a FREE mini kit. It's art, and it's a celebration. It was meant to be shared, and to keep in accordance with what the BBC allows so that no copyright infringement would occur AND in the sense of community, unselfishness and wonder that Dr. Who has always fostered and inspired.

Dr. Who is a phenomenon. Everyone who has ever enjoyed the show seems to have their favorite incarnation, or version, of The Doctor. I remember staying up past my bedtime as a child to watch the show with my mother when Tom Baker was sporting the famous long scarf!

The Doctor shows us that we should never be alone. It isn't healthy to dwell too much on things that happened in our past. He teaches us to explore, to learn, to jump in and swim and that it's okay to be afraid. One simply puts on a brave face and opens the next door just the same. He has proven that you don't have to have muscles, or be pretty to save the world, nor do you have to be ugly or scary to be a villain. He taught me to be observant, to be kinder to machines, to accept that the unknown might really be known just not yet understood, that trust has to be unconditional and that people tend to see only what they want to see in other people. So look deeper.

Obviously I have had a love of Dr. Who that has lasted for many years, and the things that I have enjoyed in the program have evolved as I have matured. Clearly my fangirl squeals are contagious, because my husband and children are now Dr. Who fans as well. My two older sons watch it with their wives, and our teenagers join my husband and I for every episode.

I was thrilled to be invited to join and contribute my FAN ART in the form of a digital scrapbooking mini-kit for personal use only. You can scrap those pictures of everyone gathered at your house to watch the 50th Anniversary Episode: Day of the Doctor! :)

Here is my portion, just click the preview below to download.

Here is a layout I made with my mini.
Yes, I did make my husband a scarf like Tom Baker wore when he was the 4th Doctor.

Thank you for joining us in an effort to celebrate Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary! Please remember: All kits included in this blog train are Personal Use Only and are strictly WORKS OF FAN ART. No part of any of these kits are to be sold or traded for monetary gain.

Here is a list of the rest of the stops on this journey of Whovian adventures.
Have fun using this free fan art to scrap your family enjoying watching Dr. Who together.

Movember by Ponytails Designs

Get your moustache on! Are the men in your life sporting some interesting new facial hair? Movember is all about raising awareness for men's health issues. Just as October has become synonymous with breast cancer awareness, so has November become the month of the moustache... and raising awareness for prostate cancer and other men's cancers. From the official Movember website: "Movember’s vision is to have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health. During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of millions of moustaches around the world. Through the power of the moustache, vital funds and awareness are raised to combat prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges." This is a cause that became very personal to Natasha this year, as her father was diagnosed with bladder and prostate cancer early in the year. Thankfully, he is now officially cancer-free! Natasha wants to do her part by bringing attention to this cause, and hopefully raising some funds herself.

All proceeds from the sale of Movember will be donated to the Movember foundation.
