Next Designer Contest Round Two!

Round 2 Voting for the Studio's NDC is up!

I love those slow mornings where the sun and the clouds dance a bit. You might read the paper while pounding in your pjs or sip your favorite morning beverage after a very brief sojourn into the backyard to grab some flowers to nestle into an old bottle you found in your cupboard that will give the  table a bit of a happy glow. Just relax. You don't have any plans this morning anyway. 

That's the theme of my mini-kit this round. It's called "Slow Morning".

I am so excited to share with you what I learned in the Scraps-n-Pieces Designer Mentoring Class this year! This time around I choose the Intermediate level. I created an entire kit myself, with help from my mentor and all of the wonderful designers who donated their time during the class(most especially a Ms. Karen of Karen Diamond Designs and A Ms. April of LyllahRaven Designs!!! New SNP Blog Train Giveaway "Christmas Time"

When Hilary Duff sang, 
"We're all here... and that's enough

I had to agree! For me, the holidays are about family, and giving and making others happy.

I extracted the holly in both parts, the string in the second part, the knots in both parts and I sewed the felt bird ornament and then extracted it in the second part and that's the same bird I used for the bird papers.

"Vintage" Blog Train

While doing this train, the first thing that I discovered is that "vintage" means different things to different people. To me, it evokes thoughts of days when women saved and re-sewed scraps into blankets and everything was quilted because sometimes the fire went out during the night.

I did this blog train around the same time as the "Giving Thanks" one. My first trains done while recovering with my shoulder. I loved working again, but I overdid and didn't get to work for 3 days! 
Okay, lesson learned...*I* am apparently "Vintage" enough that I need to go more slowly as I continue to recover! Enjoy the mini and don't forget to head over to my Facebook page to pick up more elements that go along with the kit!

SNP October Blog Train

Choo! Choo! All Aboard!! The Scraps-N-Pieces Blog Train is ready to leave the station: 
This month the train is called "Just Be"
I think that each of us is unique, and beautiful and have something wonderful to share. 
This is perfect for October, a month of awareness. Breast Cancer Awareness...Domestic Violence Awareness...it made me think that each of us should reach out with our own unique gifts and just give, just try, just be.

July SNP Blog Train "Sun Kissed"

Choo-choo! All aboard! It's time for another visit from the ScrapsNPieces Blog Train

 For July we chose to be "Sun Kissed". This was a challenging group of colors to work with. Yes, the sun tea is extracted, and no it was not originally sun tea. :) I worked pretty hard on that one.
